Compost giveaway to support charities

Niagara residents can collect compost in exchange for donations of non-perishable food items or cash in support of Fort Erie COPE (Community Outreach Program – Erie), Grimsby Benevolent Fund, The HOPE Center, and Project SHARE.

From Oct. 15–20, 2018 (or while quantities last) Niagara residents can collect one to three 20 litre bags of compost per vehicle per day during regular business hours

Compost is available to residents of Niagara region at the following locations:

 

Bridge Street landfill, 1300 Bridge Street, Fort Erie

Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Saturdays: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

*Niagara Road 12 landfill

 

Concession Road 7, West Lincoln

Monday: Closed

Tuesday – Friday: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Saturdays: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Humberstone landfill

 

700 Humberstone Road, Welland

Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Saturdays: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Recycling Centre

 

5030 Montrose Road, Niagara Falls

Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

**Saturday: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

 

*Compost is available to residents of Grimsby, Pelham, Lincoln and West Lincoln only

** Recycling Drop-off Depot not open; compost pick-up only
