Large quantity of cocaine seized in St. Catharines

Police arrested two men from St. Catharines Tuesday evening after a cocaine trafficking investigation led to the seizure of a large quantity of cocaine.

The cocaine has an estimated street value of $11,470, said a police news release.

The drugs were found at a property on Vine Street South, along with $1,390 alleged to be the proceeds of crime.

Officers were granted a search warrant after surveillance of the property revealed a Toronto man had been using the address as the base for a drug selling operation.

Police searched the house around 6 p.m. and arrested the two men. Charged with the alleged offences of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime are 27-year-old Bismark Barrett of Toronto and 46-year-old Scott Ryan of St. Catharines.
