Exploring Photos with Jim Smith: Old Hardware Store
(Supplied/Jim Smith)

The Old Town post office was the site of a large lumber yard and hardware store from the early 1900s up to the 1970s. It was owned by William Harrison who had three son’s — Don, Allen and Jack — who all helped run the business. The Niagara advance at one time was published in this building and received its name while there by Mr. Harrison. A similar store today would be Penner Building Centre.
