Man arrested for drugging female

A man has been arrested for allegedly administering a noxious substance to a female victim on two occasions.

Niagara Regional Police say the investigation began in July, when the victim contacted police to report the incidents where she believed the male had drugged her.

During the investigation, police seized the suspected food and beverages which tests found to contain methamphetamine.

The identify of the victim was not released.

Charged with two counts of administering a noxious substance is 45-year-old Jamie Denis, who was living in Welland at the time of the alleged offences.

Denis was held in custody pending a bail hearing Saturday.
