Boasting more than 2000 performances world-wide, the Gryphon Trio will celebrate 25 seasons together with a show in the recital hall at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre, April 7 at 2 p.m.

Members of the trio have remained the same for 25 years. Roman Borys, gryphon cellist and artistic and executive director of the Ottawa Chamber Music Society along with Annalee Patipatanakoon and Jamie Parker, both artistic directors of the OCMS, have released 20 CDs and received numerous Juno awards.

In a media release, Margaret Gay, Gallery Players artistic director, said she is “absolutely thrilled” to present one of Canada’s best known and most accomplished chamber ensembles during the trio’s anniversary year.

“The Recital Hall at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre in St. Catharines is the perfect venue, and the trio is offering a very romantic, sumptuous programme.”

The ensemble will perform Haydn’s lively Trio No. 33 in G minor, Love Triangle by Canada’s Dinuk Wijeratne, and one of the pinnacle trios of the romantic period, Brahms’ Trio No. 1, Op. 8.

Tickets for the performance are $39 for adults, $36 for seniors, $14 for students and children. A family rate of $80 is also available. Visit the Gallery Players of Niagara website or call 905 468 1525 for tickets.
