Sun shines on Frogpond's Art in the Vineyard

Art, wine and food brought people together during Frogpond Farm Organic Winery’s annual Art in the Vineyard festival last weekend at the winery on Larkin Road, just off of Concession 1 Road, in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Visitors flocked to the property to browse the 29 vendors, artisans and food suppliers.

On both Saturday and Sunday afternoon, Frogpond staff poured samples of their organic wine and mingled with the visitors and vendors.

Jens Gemmrich, owner of the winery, said he couldn't have asked for a better weekend.

"The sun was out, everyone was happy, it was a great event. We've been doing it for about eight years now and we're going to keep going," he said.

Vendors came from all over Ontario to showcase their art and hand-crafted items and three food and drink vendors offered specialty meals and gourmet coffee.

For some, artistic talent runs in the family: father and daughter artists Timothy John Sullivan from NOTL and Meghan Sullivan, owner of Black Dog Art Shop, set up their tents side-by-side to display their unique styles of paintings and drawings. Each honed their craft in their own time -- Meghan, who attend OCAD University, said she has been drawing since she was young and Timothy took up painting after retirement.
