Police are looking for a witness of a collision caused by an alleged incident of road rage on Thursday in Welland.

At around 4:35 p.m., police say there was a minor altercation between two drivers in the area of Regional Rd. 20 and Haist St. which led to a male driver of a Chevrolet Silverado rear-ending another vehicle before fleeing the scene at a high speed.

Approximately four minutes later, the suspect tried to pass a female driving westbound on Welland Rd. near the intersection of Centre Street.

As a result, the suspect lost control of his SUV and struck a tree. 

There were no injuries as a result of the collision, though the male driver is facing a number of charges under the Highway Traffic Act.
