The Old Firehall Restaurant

268 Creek Rd., St. Davids

The food was yummy. The service was friendly. St. Davids old fire hall has been a restaurant for many years. Long gone is the firefighters’ pole and any resemblance to the garage holding fire trucks. Only the name speaks to the building’s origin. The Mediterranean-inspired restaurant is comfortable and the atmosphere is very wine country appropriate.

It wasn’t long before we needed to see the bathrooms. It never is. After several glasses of wine I could have put out a fire. Off to the loo I skipped. The bathrooms are white and utilitarian. Clean and practical. Great water pressure. Quick-flowing hot water always a plus. No four-alarm fire here, the Old Firehall restaurant earned its 3/5 Golden Plunger rating.
